An additional HIV drug and four new comedications have been added to the interaction checker.
New HIV Drug
Enfuvirtide (Fuzeon™, ENF, T20) has been added as an HIV drug in the Entry and Attachment Inhibitors class. Enfuvirtide is a fusion inhibitor and is administered by subcutaneous injection. It has previously been listed on the checker, but only as a comedication. As a peptide, enfuvirtide undergoes catabolism to its constituent amino acids; this metabolic pathway is unlikely to be affected by coadministered drugs. In vitro human microsomal studies and in vivo studies indicate that enfuvirtide is not an inhibitor of CYP450 enzymes and the potential for metabolic interactions with enfuvirtide is low.
New Comedications
Clotrimazole (topical and pessary/troche), meloxicam and nicotine have been added as comedications and can be found in the Antifungal, Analgesic and Other classes, respectively.
