Yellow interactions – a progress report

Wednesday 15 November 2017

A further batch of comedications have been reassessed using the new interaction classification system (which includes “yellow”). This takes the total number of therapeutic drug classes updated to 26, and leaves just 13 classes still to update. The latest therapeutic classes to be updated are.

  • Anaesthetics and muscle relaxants
  • Analgesics
  • Anthelmintics
  • Antiarrhythmics
  • Antibacterials
  • Anti-coagulant, anti-platelet and fibrinolytic
  • Anticonvulsants
  • Antidepressants
  • Anti-diabetics
  • Antifungals
  • Antihistamines
  • Antimigraine agents
  • Antiprotozoals
  • Beta blockers
  • Bronchodilators
  • Calcium channel blockers

Yellow interactions are likely to be of weak intensity and not requiring additional action or monitoring, or a dosage adjustment  (click here for further details).

Please note, it is necessary for users of the HIV iChart app to ensure that the app (as well as the data) has been updated to the latest version so that yellow interactions can be displayed.
